Wordless Wednesday: Cocoon

Better Than Reality TV

Meet France's latest scandal. Hey, what else are we going to focus on now that Carla Bruni has declared her pregnancy "uninteresting" to the French?

The man above is lovingly called a "super-flic" (super-cop). He is the second highest ranked man in Lyon's judiciary police. He has just been arrested. His smile now looks a bit sinister doesn't it?

He (and his wife, among others) are being charged with plying informers with drugs from drug busts , exchanging information for tip-offs and otherwise tripping on the thin line between business and corruption. If someone offered you the use of their Ferrari while on the Côte d'Azur, would you say no?

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but, from all the cop shows I've watched (they're all based on true procedure, right?) Isn't that what they are supposed to do to get the "gros poisson"?

It's going to be hard to find black & white in a lake of gray, but if there is judicial system that can painstakingly go through every piece of straw in a haystack it is definitely the French one. Time is not an issue, ain't that right M. Chirac?

In any case, I'm so done watching Inspector Derrick re-runs.....

P.S. I'm kidding, I'm more of a Suits kind of gal.
