Today both of my girlie girlies went off to school. Big sister was awaited with open arms by all of her little girlfriends. Somehow her class is made up of almost all of the children she's known since pre-k! That includes *Nicolas, her "amoureux". She's so into him and into having her books just so and her Hanna Montana pencil case.
Little Sister is surfing on the wave of the unknown. "What's the name of my friend?" she asked for the umpteenth time last night. It turns out she's in a "younger siblings" class as a lot of her group have brothers and sisters in Big Sister's grade.
I felt a bit sad to see Little Sister go off to play. Of course she's having fun, but she's my baby girl. I found myself checking the time, making sure I didn't miss picking her up. She was fine until after lunch when she started looking for me and cried a bit. She's looking forward to seeing her friends and the class hamsters again.
Both girls have extremely nice teachers. The helper (called an ATSEM here) in Little Sister's class knew her from birth and the principal is my friend. Big Sister is once again with her best friend and a lovely teacher who smiles a lot.
They'll be fine....and so will I.
