Rouge

Today is the first day of Les Soldes (lay sold = the summer sales). Five solid weeks of optimal shopping, up to 80% off.  Generally speaking there are some good deals to be had especially since consumerism in France has apparently rebounded after the crisis. Quelle crise? To which I add that gas is not one of the products on sale and has held at a higher than normal price for quite some time. The new normal?


For the past eight years I've been up and at 'em on the first day of the sales. The weather is generally iffy, and today was no exception. Rain. Lots of it.

I bought the above nail polish today. Not because was on sale (it wasn't) but because it promises to hold for 10 days. Summer can officially begin once I've put some shade of red or coral on my nails. Did you get the part where it's raining here?  Back to the polish. Ten days? Seriously? Had it been any other brand I would have been skeptical, but this particular one tends to deliver on its promises. So I painted my nails all nice and pretty and the countdown has begun.

10 days. Update on day 5 (Monday). Happy Wednesday.  Vive les soldes!
