| Would you like a burger with your Everest order of fries and onion rings? |
In France we have McD's, KFC, Quick, and McDoner that would be about it for fast-food chains. The menus change often as there is a penchant for the "plat du jour" and it just wouldn't do to have a McChicken day in, day out. You can supersize your meal, but I've rarely seen anybody do that. Can you imagine? I'm sure the cashier would yell out : "We need more FRIES, taille XL . . . . "
La honte . . . (la onte = the shame/embarrasment)
A couple of months ago, when I was in The Land, I ate at one of the local fast-food joints called Burger Ranch. No, in all these years I had never eaten there before, something about the loud red and yellow décor disturbed me. . .
Anyhow, since we were three, two of us decided to get a "meal-for-two", which seemed jovial as you get a shared plate of fries and onion rings. It was really amusing to watch as we were given a salad bowl sized plate that also had handy compartments to put your burgers in. 10 points for the festive concept. Where they really set themselves apart was in the sauce department. Here in France you have to beg like the cat in Shrek in order to get some ketchup. . . .

| Enough for the picnic too! |
All in all the food was really much better than I had expected. I just wonder what the "meal for four" looks like . . . .
