The other day Big Sister and I went to the shopping center near our house. It's a rather large place by French standards and it's not unusual to have displays set up representing local car dealerships and gardening centers in the hallways.
This time was no exception. They had a whole circus theme set up complete with sparkly costumes, a flimsy cage with a real tiger and clowns walking around making balloon animals.
Yes, you read that right. A flimsy, portable cage set up on the slippery tile floor of the shopping center. Look Ma! No anchors!
This here was the scariest bit. there was a bit of hardware store chain on each side of the cage that attached it to the enclosure but the cage didn't sit flush with the edges. I'm all for getting that great shot but I just had images of the tiger scrambling through that small opening between the cages. . . .
Needless to say, we didn't wait around. The tiger, who did NOT want to get out and start the show, didn't seem in a great mood overall. Big Sister was disappointed, but even she thought the set up was a little on the light side.
It's a good thing the clowns saved the day! If you look at the picture really well, though, you'll notice that things really are a little more liberal around these here parts. There really was something for everyone . . .
This area, by the way, is part of the restaurant in the shopping center. Every couple of months they change the décor. Usually, the the themes are inspired by the seasons. Usually.
