LENT-ement mais sûrement . . .

lentement mais sûrement (lahntemahn may surehmahn = slowly but surely)

At Big Sister's school they are doing a Lent Candy Urn. The children who wish to participate in the not eating of candy can bring candy in to put in the communal urn. Apparently a lot of parents kids are into it as the urn is nearly full.

One little boy in Big Sister's class, however, must have had an addendum to his Lent vow. Today he decided he was going to make some space in the urn and took out 5 candies. Now either he's got a heart of gold or he needs to brush up on his math skills because he ate two but gave three to his older sister.

Big Sister recounted the story to me with a lot of giggles, especially when she declared that it was silly for him to have told her because she could tell a lot of people. Oy! The lessons learned around the Candy Urn . . .
